Short trip to Austria - Innsbruck & Matrei am Brenner

Innsbruck is a large city in the west of Austria and the capital of the province of Tyrol. Equipped with very many sights in a beautiful landscape.

Our time was limited to 2 days, but what we saw all made the trip worthwhile. Great place and great people.

Matrei am Brenner

(City / Distance to Innsbruck 25.5 km)

Matrei am Brenner is located in the district of Innsbruck-Land in Tyrol (Austria). In 955, a "locus Matereia" was first mentioned in documents. The name originally referred to a forest (1160: "apud silvam Matereia"). Beautiful town and unique houses and nice people all around. The main season is in the winter months.
